This award recognises that Certis Security Australia’s wholistic approach to innovation and improvement makes the industry safer, smarter and better for all.

ABA100 Winner for Digital Transformation

Certis Security Australia is an ABA100 Winner for Digital Transformation at The Australian Business Awards 2023. This award recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in digital transformation. Certis Security Australia had embarked on its digital transformation journey in 2022, with the first phase of the transformation project focused on reducing cost-to-serve through the digitisation of business operations and processes such as billing performance. The first year has yielded strong results in the form of some $1 million in cost reduction and 85% improvement in billing processes.

Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF) Save a Life Award

Security Manager Jason Muir and Security Officers Aaron Monaghan, Darren Ratcliffe and Adel Dzambic all received the Save a Life Award in recognition of their extraordinary efforts to preserve the lives of those around them. Each of these frontline officers went above and beyond the call of duty to keep their communities safe, and not just while on the job.

Certis Security Australia’s National Projects & Administration Manager (Protective Services), Tanya Honess, was a finalist for the Outstanding Female Security Professional Award. Tanya was recognised for outstanding service throughout her career, frequently going above and beyond her call of duty to improve the lives of her colleagues and customers.

Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF) Save a Life Award

Certis Security Australia officers Deanna Symonds and Steven Kirin, as well as the South Australian Retail Security Team, all received the Save a Life Award in recognition of their extraordinary efforts. They had put their training into practice to save the lives of others, and kept their communities safe by showing courage and care at work.

Outstanding Security Performance Award

Certis Security Australia Client Service Manager, Michael Joyce, was awarded the Outstanding Security Performance Awards for an Outstanding Contract Security Manager.  His award was in recognition of his efficient management of multiple key sites throughout Queensland, particularly during lockdowns, when Michael used his extensive knowledge of clients and personnel to exceed all expectations.

Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF) Save a Life Award

Certis Security Australia Officer, Julie Tsinaris, received the Save a Life Award in recognition of her commitment to going above and beyond the call of duty every day, which included when she responded to an incident during her shift. Julie’s quick action, extensive training and exceptional response meant she was capable of commencing CPR, using a defibrillator and calling an ambulance all while remaining calm. Thanks to Julie's quick thinking and actions, the man had made a full recovery.

This award is a testament to those efforts.

Australian Women in Security Network Awards

Christina Rose, Aviation Security Manager at Certis Security Australia, was nominated by members of her extensive professional network in six categories of the Australian Women in Security Network Awards 2020. She was up against 443 other inspirational women in security and took away two awards.


Australia’s Most Outstanding Woman in Protective Security/Resilience

Christina was recognised as an all-star individual 'Demonstrating excellence, innovation and leadership in protective security/resilience. Working collaboratively at all levels of the organisation to instil a culture of security’. She has brought to Certis her considerable Federal government experience and knowledge.


Acts of Bravery and Courage Award

Christina was celebrated for selflessly and continuously protecting the lives of others during the COVID-19 crisis. She was applauded for showing leadership, bravery and commitment to helping people during the coronavirus pandemic while facing a dangerous and precarious situation. Christina was recognised for providing real leadership and change in the face of adversity.

Security Officers, David Parker and Michael Fullalove, were recipients of the St Johns ‘Save a Life Awards’ from the Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF). They were recognised for their decisive action and commitment to treat medical conditions that arised on site during their security shift.

Richard Pollack, security officer from our Protective Services division, received the prestigious Australian Security Medal of Valour Award from the ASMF. This was in recognition to the outstanding act of valour, courage and decisiveness above and beyond the call of duty at an incident at Private Mater Hospital, Brisbane, in May 2019.

Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF): St John Save life Award

The St John Save a Life Award recognises a person who contributes, through the application of first aid skills to saving the life of another person and St John awarded George Moussa, Deepak Deepak and Feisal Hussain an award for the critical incidents they played big parts in that helped to save a life of a member of the public.

FINALIST – Australian Service Excellence Awards (CSIA): Customer Service Project of the Year (2019)

Awarded Finalist in the Customer Service Project of the Year - Customer Integration category for the Customer Integrated Billing Project delivered to a top aviation client. The category is under the prestigious 2019 CSIA Australian Service Excellence Awards (CSIA).

The CSIA is Australia’s peak customer service body which provides education, certification and recognition to organisations and individuals in the field of service excellence. The judging criteria for the annual awards is based on the International Customer Service Standard (ICSS:2015-2020) framework of 27 specific measures taking the perspectives on: Learning & Growth, Operational, Service and Financial.

The Save a Life Award recognises security personnel who contribute, through the application of first aid skills, to saving the life of another person. Mary Theofanidis was recognised for exhibiting great courage and bravery for stepping forward to handle a difficult confrontation which involved a mentally unstable intruder during her shift

Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL): Individual Achievement – General

This award recognises excellence within the security ‘manpower’ sector of the industry, including service to customers and outstanding acts. Account Manager, Brad Gorman, was recognised in the Individual Achievement category for his extensive industry experience acquired over 22 years
