Certis has its humble roots in Singapore as a Guard & Escort Unit formed in 1958 within the Singapore Police Force (SPF). In 1972, the unit was separated from the SPF, as the Commercial and Industrial Security Corporation (CISCO), a statutory board under the Government of Singapore. CISCO was corporatised in 2005, and subsequently named as Certis CISCO in 2007. In 2018, the Group was renamed as Certis, to reflect the expanded business beyond security.

For almost 100 years, Certis has gathered unparalleled security expertise providing integrated security solutions in industries including aviation, transport, logistics, healthcare, government, critical infrastructure and commercial property and precincts. Many of the partnerships established in those first years are still successful today.


Certis Security Australia

Certis’ first foray into Australia began in 2016, when Certis acquired the Australian heritage company BRI Security.

Certis’ presence expanded significantly with the acquisition of SNP Security in 2018. SNP is a cornerstone of Australia’s security history since 1890, when SNP founder John Henry Roche arrived in Australia. John was a highly regarded superintendent in the New South Wales police force before he left the force in June 1923 to start Sydney Night Patrol, a security business, with his son, Tom.

Since 1923, generations of the Roche family have grown SNP’s security capabilities and expanded the business across Australia. For the past century, SNP has accumulated unparalleled security expertise across industries including aviation, transport, logistics, critical infrastructure and commercial precincts.

With the rich heritage of SNP and BRI, as well as the international reach of Group, Certis is the next chapter in this Australian success story. With security expertise across various industries that have been fostered over many years of dedicated service, Certis is now renowned as a trusted integrated security services provider for businesses in Australia and worldwide.
